Reading and the Library

We have a stock of over 9,500 fiction and non-fiction titles to reflect the curriculum and interests.

We also have graphic novels, magazines and careers books and information. Students can borrow two books for up to three weeks.

In Year 7 and Year 8, students are encouraged to read books and take Accelerated Reader book quizzes to gain reading rewards and points for their House teams.

In Key Stage 3, students are encouraged to take part in the WHA Reading Challenge where they aim to read as many books as they can from the recommended reading list for their year group to gain rewards and points for their House teams.

The school library is open before school, break and lunch times, plus after school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
