Pastoral Care

Each year group at Winifred Holtby Academy is supported by a highly experienced pastoral team, led by non-teaching Heads of Year and Assistant Heads of Year who remain with their year group throughout their journey at the academy.

They are supported by a dedicated team of ten tutors per year group, with an Assistant Headteacher also attached to every year group, ensuring strong leadership and consistent care.

Our pastoral teams work closely with our partner primary schools and have developed real expertise in managing the transition to secondary school, helping every student settle quickly and confidently. Tutors meet with their tutor groups every day for 30 minutes, offering guidance, encouragement and a wide range of support. They are also your first point of contact should you have any concerns about your child's education or well-being.
